The Winter Olympics are Almost Here

Pyeongchang will soon be the temporary home to hundreds of the world’s most elite winter athletes from sports ranging from figure skating to hockey to luge.  And, lucky for you, we’ve got you covered so you can look your best at all your Olympic watching parties. The Winter Olympics is home to some of the most incredible, and sometimes under-appreciated sports.  The 2018 Winter Olympics will feature 102 events in 15 sports, making it the first Winter Olympics to have more than 100 medal events. Four new areas in existing sports were introduced to the Winter Olympic program in Pyeongchang, including big air snowboarding, mixed doubles curling, mass start speed skating, and mixed team alpine skiing. With all these new additions, it’s going to be pretty amazing.

 

Stand Behind Your Country

With 92 countries in the running for Olympic gold, it’s very likely your nation is competing, which means they will also be walking in the Parade of Nations.  Key athletes bearing the flags of their respective nations will lead their national delegations as they parade into the Olympic stadium in South Korea.

Following the order dictated by tradition, the Greek team will enter first, since they are the originator of the Olympics.  Then the nations will enter in alphabetical order of their country’s names in Korean.  And finally, the South Korean team will enter last, representing the host nation. And, for the first time in a long time, both North Korea and South Korea will march under the Korean Unification Flag.  You can celebrate your favorite countries too, with one of our flag cufflinks.
